Upcoming Events Real Estate Circle of Excellence Meeting Tuesday, September 9, 2008- We hope you and a guest will join us for our next Real Estate Circle of Excellence breakfast meeting on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 7:30 a.m. in Room 3xxx of Snead Hall. Our guest speaker is Tim White of Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. who will discuss Chapter 527.

So, if you are asking yourself what is Chapter 527? Well, in 2006, the General Assembly approved new legislation, which was Senate Bill 699 – Chapter 527 of the 2006 Acts of Assembly (otherwise known as Chapter 527). The purpose of this bill was to enhance the coordination between land use and transportation planning. This bill primarily impacts comprehensive plans and traffic impact studies for rezoning and site plan submittals. Tim's presentation will summarize the requirements of this bill and will describe some of the schedule and fee impacts of the new requirements based on project experience. There are a few other important regulations that VDOT is currently finalizing and/or implementing that will significantly impact land use and transportation which will also be briefly discussed.

Additionally we will be voting on the slate of officers for 2009. Bruce Kay will update us on our annual Real Estate Trends Conference which will be held on October 14, 2009 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.

Please RSVP to Brenda Sullivan 804-828-1721.
